Boca Juniors will host San Lorenzo this Wednesday for the tenth round of the Apertura tournament. The team aims to secure a victory to improve its position in Zone A and to reduce the gap in a curious head-to-head record where it currently trails. According to the Argentine News Agency, out of 213 official matches, San Lorenzo has won 83, while Boca has won 77, and 52 matches have ended in a draw. In their recent encounters, Boca has managed to close the gap, winning both previous matches in 2024 (2-1 in the League Cup and 3-2 in the Professional League). Coming off a 3-0 win over Lanús, Boca will be aiming for another victory to close the gap to just five matches against one of its biggest nightmares in Argentine football. Boca's most significant victory was a 7-1 win in the 2006 Apertura tournament. Meanwhile, San Lorenzo also defeated Boca 4-0 in the 1967 Nacional, the 1988/89 Liguilla Libertadores, the 1997 Clausura tournament, and the 2016 Argentine Super Cup.
